Section 1: Introduction

Welcome to Studley Van Hire. By securing a booking via our website, you agree to adhere to the following terms and conditions.

Section 2: Payments and Deposits

• 2.1 Booking and Payment Terms
  • Booking Deposit: A non-refundable booking deposit equivalent to 25% of the total booking price is required to secure your booking. This deposit ensures the van slot is reserved for you.
  • Remaining Balance: The remaining balance of your booking cost, if paid online via our website, can be refunded should you choose to cancel your booking. However, the booking deposit becomes non-refundable 48 hours before your booking.
  • Security Deposit: A £100 security deposit is also required, refundable upon the vehicle’s return in its original condition. This deposit is in addition to the booking deposit and serves as a safeguard against potential damage to the rented van.
• 2.2 Insurance Waiver
  • For an additional £25, customers can opt for an insurance waiver. This waiver covers up to £500 in excess damage and includes comprehensive insurance in the event of an accident.
  • Without the Insurance Waiver: Customers who opt-out of the insurance waiver will be responsible for paying any damages to the vans during the rental period.

Section 3: Cancellations

• 3.1 Cancellation Policy
  • Bookings can be cancelled up to 48 hours before the scheduled booking date for a full refund of the remaining balance, excluding the booking deposit. Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the booking date will result in the forfeiture of the booking deposit.

Section 4: Driver Requirements

• 4.1 Age Requirement
  • Our services are available to drivers aged 21 years and above. By agreeing to these terms, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.

Section 5: Documentation

• 5.1 Required Documents for Van Collection
  • Upon van collection, please provide the following:
    • 5.1.1 A valid Driver’s License
    • 5.1.2 National Insurance (NI) Number for the necessary license check
    • 5.1.3 Proof of Address, such as a utility bill or bank statement (dated within the last 3 months)

Section 6: Booking and Confirmation

• 6.1 Booking Confirmation
  • Your booking is confirmed and secured once the booking deposit is paid via our website, indicating acceptance of these terms and conditions.

Section 7: Vehicle Use Restrictions

• The rented van must not be used for illegal purposes or smoking. Violation of these restrictions may result in additional charges or termination of the rental agreement.

Section 8: Fuel Policy

• The van must be returned with the same amount of fuel as at the start of the rental period. Failure to comply will result in charges for the cost of fuel.

Section 9: Cleaning Fees

• If the van is returned in a condition that requires special cleaning, a cleaning fee will be charged to cover these costs.

Section 10: Late Return Policy

• Late returns will incur charges for an entire additional day’s rental unless due to malfunction or issues with the van.

Section 11: Fines

• The renter is responsible for paying any clean air zone charges, speeding tickets, traffic tickets, or other fines incurred during the rental period.
